The Burrowing Owl is a small bird that uses its claws and powerful legs to dig into the ground for prey. It hunts at night, and has excellent hearing which it uses to find their prey in the dark. They can also use echolocation to hunt without sight! The Burrowing Owl lives in North America, Mexico, Central America and South America. These owls are solitary except during breeding season when they will mate with other birds of their kind - either choice or arranged by parents!
