The Gobi pit viper is a venomous snake found in the deserts of Mongolia and China.
They are known to be one of the most dangerous snakes on earth due to their neurotoxic venom that can cause paralysis, dizziness, blurred vision and difficulty breathing. It is also said that they have been seen drinking water from puddles which has led many people to believe they are not as desert adapted as first believed.
The Gobi pit viper prefers living in rocky terrain and will often live underground or under rocks for protection from high temperatures or predators. Although this snake does not attack humans unless provoked it should still be treated with caution because if bitten by this creature you could experience life threatening side effects such as death, coma or permanent brain damage.
